Bank charges : claiming from HSBC

Having read the success thread I felt quite positive as I wrote my letter to HSBC reclaiming the charges but NOT the interest charged.
Today there is a reply from Customer Credit Charges in Sheffild(?) telling me what is free with the account and what the fees applied to the account are etc. etc. They tell me they have been correctly calculated and applied to the account 'in accordance with the published tariff'
I now have 8 weeks to contact them again (in Leeds this time!) or they will consider the matter resolved. Part of me feels that we were in breach of conditions but I was only seeking redress for last two years. Plus i sent my paperwork showing charges and they haven't returned it!!
