    Did they really theaten to take your stuff? Even if you were your brother it is illegal for them to do that.

    Even for a bailiff, if a bailiff takes property that has not been correctly levied (has to belong to debtor and must have a court order against them) remove of goods is the criminal charge of theft.

    Debt collectors use bullying tactics so brother or not, report them to the OFT for there bad practices. You only need to inform them that the debtor does not nor has ever lived there, if they visit you can simply shut the door on them as debt collectors have no rights other than to ask for payment / work on behalf of the owner of the debt.

    Further more debt collectors are breaking guidelines by turning up uninvited and also if you tell them not to visit and you remove there common right to enter the boundary of the property then they are committing a civil offence of trespassing.
