Money in my account

Hello,
I took out a £20K loan to buy a car, then bought the car but the money is still in my account 3 months later.
I don't want to move the money into a different account incase they try and take the money and i get charged....
How long should i leave it before moving the money into a savings account?
or should i point out the mistake to the dealer .......

Thanks for any comments/suggestions you can offer

David

Is this serious? It can't be

You should do the morally correct thing -phone them and tell them the money hasn't been taken. No one can expect a 20k car for free!

But I'm an honest person......*rolls eyes*

Ring them and ask for the date they took the money.
If they can't answer, enjoy the £20K.

As much as the morally correct idea is probably right does anyone have the not so morally legally correct one :)

I can't believe you're serious. Perhaps this is a wind-up. Of course you must contact the dealer immediately. Some other poor sod may have had £20K taken out of their account.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

I would imagine there will be some law against what you are suggesting you might do.

I'm sure in the long run, a criminal record, the original amount + costs, should be enough to see you make sense.

I have posted a question about payments before and quite a few posters replied that company have years in which to claim monies owed to them for a purchase.

This is not a wind up.
I can't believe so many people in my position would do the morally correct thing rather than chance it and maybe/very unlikely but get to keep £20,000.
Or at least get to keep the £500 a year at least interest i can get by moving it into a savings account.
