Where can i deposit dollar cheques

i have a few cheques from an amaerican bank, With the amount in dollars.
Is their a bank where i can deposit these, without high fees/charges and getting a fair exchange rate?

Not really.
Only a bank where you have an active account will deal with your cheques expect a minimum fee of between £5 and £10 for small amounts (although you can bundle them up together to lessen the charges as long as they are less than 5 months old).
Google for cheque exchanging - there have been a few companies mentioned on here that offer this service.0
