wedding insurance?

Sammy, some places charge around £5 on top of the price of each suit, and that insures it.
Check some places out who do suit hire and ask them xTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
We've also bought our insurance with Ecclesiastical - they cost a little extra but had good online reviews!0

In my experience insurance is one of those things where if you don't have it something will go horribly awry and if you do it won't. I would get it for the peace of mind if nothing else."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

Get it! Our venue pulled out a few months ago and would of lost £2k if we did not have insurance! may seem a small amount but we couldnt afford to lose it0

Definitely worth getting for peace of mind. The worst case scenario is your venue going bust right before the wedding when you've already paid them quite a bit. You won't get money back from them, and you'd lose deposits with your other suppliers for short notice cancellations. You then have to pay to re-arrange the wedding. Insurance would cover all of this.
My mum has worked in insurance for 30 years and she recommended Ecclesiastical after reading all the policy documents from the different companies for me. They had the most comprehensive cover, and you can do a pick and mix policy to suit you (e.g. we didn't have wedding cars so didn't cover those).
As it turns out, we didn't need to claim (thank god!), but with the amount weddings cost it's worth having insurance rather than running the risk of paying for the whole thing twice.0 -
ohh good advice about taking things off- im not having a wedding car either so won't need this on there. will ring Ecclesiastical when i can xIs a married woman!! 23rd July 2011 Best day of my life!

One of the best wedding insurers is Ecclesiastical as they pay out and were about the only company to pay out when Wrapit went bust and brides were left without gifts.
With wedding insurance you pay a one off fee - you don't pay in instalments.

That's very interesting to hear that Ecclesiastical were about the only company to pay out when Wrapit went bust. They were also, I believe, the only company to also honour policies during the recent volcanic ash situation.0 -

thanks for all your advice xIs a married woman!! 23rd July 2011 Best day of my life!
