A bit worrying...

I am just wondering if anyone else had experienced this before. I run a small business via ebay, online and locally. I started a dispute today with an upaid item, buyer immediately emails me to say cheque was sent out and contacts her bank. She then range me,turns out she left the cheque blank, it was paid in on friday to a bank near me but not the one I use! Now I was off ill last week so paid all my cheques in on monday. She says the bank are on to it, but it's quite worrying for me as it may hinder future payments if someone now knows I run a business. Is it worth contacting royal mail?

  • You could give RM a try, ive made a couple of claims for people who bought off me and said item damaged/not received,
    • I sold a pressure cooker, wrapped it in celophane then bubble wrap, put it in a box with polystyrene pieces and marked Fragile, claimed item was smashed to pieces and the PO paid out - minus postage costs.
    • I sold a bag and buyer said the box was slashed right through as was the leather bag.
    • Item never arrived....

The PO never checked either, I query the buyers honesty as I didnt belive any story and felt they were trying it on to get items for free (apart from postage costs)

Im not sure if they cover money as standard,m unless youve paid an extra 'policy' but its worth a try, even if they can track it???

It could have been the deliverer and mentioning it to the PO may stop further items going missing....
