I doubt if you will have a choice initially! Most developers do a deal with an energy supplier and some go one stage further and do a deal with an IGT i.e. the pipes are not installed by Transco.

Devolper will definately have an account set up with a supplier - As its new build ask the devolper for MPR Number for your gas (This is so you can change supplier - If it starts 745 then its an IGT (This is your gas supply number)) and also the MPAN (Supply number for electric) whoever your being supplied by currently will need readings off of you as well from when you moved in. This should have been done jointly with the devolper when you first took the property. Then start ringing for prices :)

Many thanks guys and gal, seems that I have little alternative than to continue with whoever the developer chose, then shop arround. Probably best anyway as I shall have more urgent things to sort out.
