hi reposting an earlier thread as i need help now i have a leisure alta gas cooker cant tell u the model number as its worn cooker is about 5 years old had an eginneer out to it today to fix the thermcoupe on it but he was unable to fix it he said as all the one he had woulnt fit and said he couldnt get a part for it and told me i needed a new cooker im very distraught as i cant afford a new cooker im a single mum oly work part time ive rang some one else told me wouldnt touch it as i dont no model number ! i have no oven to cook in and dont no who to call to fix this now it was goingto cost me £75 to get that fixed but that was crippling me any help please need my oven !:(

thankyou i just looked and found a sticker with a barcode on it and it say al6ndw funny how the gas man didnt bother looking just need part and someone to fit it in nottingham now !0

PLEASE NOTE : I am not recommending this site in any way, it's just the first one that caught my eye. But it looks like it should be easy enough to get hold of.
Next question - to all you gas men out there. Is this something that's DIY-able, or does it have to be a Gas Safe Registered person for this sort of job ?0 -
Technically and with a jobsworth hat on, any safety device on any gas appliance should only be fitted by a gas safe engineer.0
