Can Credit Expert Do This?

Just had a response from Credit Expert -

- Address Link entries

I HAVE REVIEWED YOUR REPORT AND CAN TELL YOU THAT:

A linked address entry may appear more than once if there is more than one address in your CreditExpert profile. Although you may see the same linked address entry several times when you check your report, there is only one entry on our records.

These entries are retrieved when we search your current address and again when we search each previous address. So please don't worry.

Although you can see the same link more than once, when lenders look at your information they can only see the entry once at each address that they search.

These Linked Address entries do not affect your credit score or your ability to obtain credit with a lender.

Hmmmnnn not sure how to reply now...

Hi Watalie, just seen your posts!

One would hope that Credit Expert are honest and correct here but it does honestly sound quite suspect! I wish I knew for sure if what they've said is correct, I wouldn't even know where to try to find info to prove they're not. But I do wish you luck if you're going to go further into it - keep us posted!

Just found this thread, and would like to add that it could be worse... on my Credit Expert report I have 116 linked addresses! And I asked about removing them as some of the companies I have never had accounts with or they are over 6 years old and was told the same as the OP - that they stay on there for 8 years. Though they did correct a spelling mistake pretty quickly when I sent them an email about it.

Only 116... try my 120

It's bonkers when Equifax show only 3!!

I have 70 address links too on my report....makes bogger all difference to your credit rating so stop getting worked up about it.
