Leaking pipe

I have a leak in the drive on the supply pipe

The drive is unmade hardcore and the pipe has been down about 25 years or so

I could have accepted a free repair from the water board but with a 2 week wait

What am I looking at for the repair from a contractor?

Your price range is right but that should include a 10 year guarantee.

How long has the leak been going on? If its a long time and you don't have a meter and the leak isn't sending water towards the house, I would wait 2 weeks and let the water board deal with it.

  • We do have a meter and the water was washing away the drive so it had to be done. My leak is fixed, but the water board creating another one replacing their stop !!!! which was broken. They were here upto 10pm last night with a water pump and arc lights :-(

It turns out that the pipe is 70 years old and is now life limited

I am awaiting the quote but probably going to be in the order of £4,000 because it is several hundred metres

Oh, the joy of home ownership
  • £325 for the leak, including a contribution for Gordan

No sign of the main quote yet

    :-(
