i'm on around my 14th week of waiting and i'm expecting the same decision after seeing the doctor write fabricated info on my form.
i would just appeal and forget the reconsideration because i believe they reconsider again anyway if you apply for an appeal.0 -
i asked for the reconsideration as i am seeing my consultant again in 10weeks time... then when i appeal (assuming i need to) i can insist they ask him for information rather than my GP
fingers crossed for u

You must either contact welfare rights or CAB to help you with your appeal. I have WR helping me. For some strange reason DLA are refusing more claimants and reducing those allredy on the benefit to a lower level which is what they did with me. They made me feel like a liar.0 -
would you not be able to get information from the consultant now to send for when they reconsider?0

I would second scrooges advice and get some help from your local Citizens Advice Bureau or Welfare Rights service who should be able to help you appeal against the decision. Are there any local help groups that may be able to help with an appeal or recommend someone as they may have members that have been through the same and have good advice for you? By local help groups I mean such as an ME group for ME sufferers etc!

Sorry your claim wasn't successfull. I waited 16 weeks for my decision to come through. If you don't mind me asking what condition/illness do you sufer from.shykins wrote:yes u guessed it they turned me down said i didnt fit into the categories as i can do these things with the aid of painkillers it seems

Glad you have asked for a reconsideration. Make sure you get all the help you can from the C.A.B. Did you get help to fill the form in. Often it is how you answer the questions. Also there does deem to be a big crack down on disability benefits. I know from applying this time that they have wanted a lot more information. Most people who appeal seem to end up getting a least one of the lower rates. All i can say is i understand how you must be feeling and i hope you get all the support you need and Good luck.I will keep my fingers crossed for you. When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile

thanks for the advice
as i havent seen my consultant with the updated MRI i cant even put a name to whatever i have or have a prognosis... basically its severe back problems.. i cant walk or sit for very long and suffer severe stabbing pains which can knock me over
i did explain to the lady that painkillers dont really have much effect and anti inflammatorys are the only thingthat helps but i cannot take them due to a hiatus hernia.. she did write all this down and said she would put it forward again.. i dont think my consultant can say anything until i have seen him at the end of october but i will ask him to write to them then
once again thanks for the kind words and advice... watch this space as they say
