She gave up in the end and stopped using it. How strange that some people seem to have had great service and others haven't.
Had my DC14 HEPA for 5 years and never a problem apart from breaking the dust container by dropping it - sent a new one for free immediately.
Dyson machines are designed for consumer tastes and workloads - they are not designed as industrial cleaners so when Mrs Mopp drags a Dyson around its bound to get damaged more easily. If Dyson did an industrial model I'm sure it would survive better. Dysons aren't perfect but neither are Seibo or Henry models.0 -
dixons are doing the dc15 animal at 249 - use the code perkz20dix to get it at 229 - think that price is hard to beat
quidco or egg card for cashback0 -
I still use my DC01. And I love it. I am dreading the day I have to buy a new one, as the later models have such bad feedback. Weren't people more happy with the Miele Animal?:wall:0

I have to admit, I've had no problems with my Dyson (DC02), which was bought in June 1997 (a bit of a stickler for keeping receipts!!).
It's even coping with all the dust, dirt & grit from building an extension, which has been going on for 3 months now!
But you must - MUST, MUST, MUST - keep the filters clean and change them regularly. Otherwise, very fine dust will build up and eventually clog up the motor.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
I have the Animal Dyson and cant fault it. I bought it online from Currys at a very good price.0

Oi! Are you calling my mum a "Mrs Mopp"?! :rotfl: I'll have you know she's not a cleaner - it broke after normal domestic use. Just telling my own experience - Dyson aren't all roses.0 -
After previous experience with Dyson's I opted for a different cleaner.
Bought a Sebo X4 Extra (not bagless) it's a far better cleaner than the previous and present Dysons.
My Dad's been in the domestic appliance business for over 35 years and his supplier suggested it as an alternative when he called to price me up a Dyson Animal as a replacement for the DC01 I had. They must be good they use them in the Whitehouse!
Look on Froogle and you should pick one up from around the £200 mark, possibly less if you can pick up a discount code somewhere. My question may be simple...but please don't assume that I am0 -
