Help with DLA claim for my son

hi i am currently trying to apply for high level DLA for my 14 son with severe tourettes and OCD/ADHD.
Have letters from school and his consultant confirming everything but wondered if their was anything significant that i should add?
Any advice would be extremely helpful as altough i am in contact with others with a TS child none have been anywhere near as severe as my son.

you cant apply for "higher level",you apply then the DM decides what to award.
If CAB cant help welfare rights might.

Woodbine is correct - you put in an application for DLA and the Decision Maker awards the level of DLA that they consider to be correct. To receive higher rate (care component) your son would need to have substantial help both day and night.

You should fill in the forms detailing the care that your son needs on a typical day. If some days are worse than others, write 'On a typical day, X needs.... but on a bad day, which occurs Y times a week, he needs this care....'

My son has been on high rate care since he was three months old - he's now twelve. I have never included medical reports, letters from school, etc. It's only since joining this site that I have discovered that it is a wise action to take.
