*Also embarrassed at not having climbed up there to clean in ages....*

I got 2 bottles of a very similar degreasing product for 20p on BOGOF in my local Tesco (Bury) recently! Virtually the same gear as well made by Robert McBride (local bleach type works in Manchester)! Beat that!
I'm still using the Fairy though as it's still in t'cupboard!

You're not alone, My hubby will vouch for that. :D
My reasoning is: If you can't see it, why clean it lol
    :rotfl:
Having said that, I've just updated my tesco order to add Fairy Power spray.

as os as i try to be, i must admit that this stuff is the dog's danglies.

not to be used on dog's danglies obviously..doubt they'd shine up quite as well as pulliptear's pans  :D

Am I the only one not that impressed? Tried Powerspray on a roasting tin and while it cleaned it a bit, not brilliantly. Thought it was expensive.
Havent tried it on the oven which is in a hell of a state, might try it now. How long do you leave it on? It says 30 mins doesnt it, but this wouldn't make a dent in the grease at the bottom.
Or do you all clean the oven every use?!!

  • Its the other half that likes to save money, Im a bit of a spendaholic :p A few weeks ago he managed to weld scrambled egg to one of my saucepans. This pleased me greatly, Id had these pans for years and I had secretly got my eyes on a nice new nonstick set.
Try as he might he couldnt get the burns off the bottom, I sympathised whilst studying the Argos catalogue pans page :D

Stupidly I bought a bottle of Fairy Powerspray after seeing it advertised. He squirted it on the pan and the bloody burn just wiped off, gutted  I cant believe just how good this stuff it. My meat tin is like new.

So there you go, £1.99 on powerspray saves him £50 on my new pans, and I cant even "accidentally" burn another cos this stuff will shift it

I was making beetroot chutney, all was going well. I left it reducung downwhile I was chopping the beetroot into small cubes. Then I added the 1st lot of beetroot, gave it a quick stir & went to chop more. Suddenly I smelt something burning - it had stuck to the bottom of the pan. A good 1/2" thick. I emptied contents & scraped off what I could. Tried fairy powerspray numerous times & NOTHING it would not touch it. I eventually used a t-spoon to scrape most of it off, tried power spray again nothing. So my pan still has a black tinge to the base.

The moral of this story is DONT try making beetroot chutney (which is gorgous if made correctly)
  • Marymilkmaid fill the bottom of the pan with coke and leave it for an hour ,usually does the trick;)

With just having moved down here to London, i'm still in the process of clearing the house and tidying, and it works great at getting atins off a lot of things - I even used a bit to get rid of dirt marks on the wall, which was great!
