    Hi

Once had Asda not turn up and I had to have cereal for tea at 10pm! Not happy. Since then they've been okay but I've swapped to Sainsburys as their Basics range is much better - have had 2 deliveries and the quality of the fresh stuff has also been excellent.

Asda and Tesco were picking 20 eggs to be used on the day - same for some of the fruit and veg - I worked out that I throw less stuff away with Sainsburys so actually more economical.

Have given Asda the benefit of the doubt one too many times!

Asda and Tesco refund anything that has less than 2 days date left, on it.

ive also had quite bad service with them, once they arrived 10 minutes out of the two hour range slot, and i phoned the customer service who were under the impression that my goods had arrived, te driver was not too apologetic either. also the substitiutions are just dire, which i still receive even though i have clearly stated that i do not want to waste my money on products i have not picked. cans and veg always arrive bashed too.....much better service at tesco and sainsburys online, and also no minimum spend

But that's no use to me if I've bought meat for the week ahead, or bought a joint of meat for the weekend on my shopping on Thursday, and it all has to be eaten by the following day. I don't have a large freezer, and don't have room for one. I had 5 different fresh items all arrive from Asda with a combination of same day and next day dates on them once. I was indeed refunded but that wasn't the point.

I don't expect a full week on fresh meat and poultry, but using home delivery to rid the store of stock that would be reduced if left on the shelf as shoppers actually going to the supermarket wouldn't pick it is not right.

  • I didn't know they refunded if items were within 2 days of use by date, good to know for the future.

I've heard alot of good things about Sainsburys recently, particurlarly their basic range and like the idea of a one hour
delivery slot so might give them a whirl and see, in the past
for some reason I've always thought they were very expensive and on a par with Waitrose but their basics look very good.
