I had a first order for 6pm to 8pm last Friday 2 July. They seemed to have good prices and compared well to Tesco whom I normally use and am happy with.
Duly waited in for 2 hours, no delivery no phone call nothing.
I wrote it off and decided never again to shop with Asda!.
However on Monday I realised they had charged me in full!.
Rang customer services who finally agrred order had not been delivered even though on their website it assured me that it had.
No explanation given as to why.
Is this normal?.
Certainly won't use again, its so blindingly incompetant its
almost funny (but isn't).

I have only used them once (last week) Because their prices where so much better and had no problems. A lot od substitutions but they price match and I was chuffed to find they had subbed my cheapo butter for organic stuff and my cheap lamb steak for really lovely lamb chops. Driver was totally grumpy though as he'd had massive problems parking on my road.0

I've used them for ages and never had a problem with the order or delivery - just the website telling me I dont exist..0

Ive been searching on the site and it does appear that my experiance is not unique, I like the low prices but can't stand the aggro so back to Tesco!.0

Used them once. Half an hour after the end of my delivery slot and they hadn't shown up. I rung up their customer services and they didn't know what had happened and said they'd ring me back. I ended up missing a meeting I was supposed to go to with my boyfriend waiting for them to ring me back. When they did, it turned out the local Asda had a strike on with the delivery men and weren't delivering that day. Yet no one thought to ring or email the people expecting deliveries that day. So, unimpressed, I went out and did the shopping at Tesco.
Not trying that again.0 -
ive tried asda a few times but would agree theyre not as good as tesco.
my 1st delivery- they guy said 'heres your frozen' and I hadnt ordered any frozen stuff- in fact they'd put growing (in pots) herbs in the freezer section of the van, along with other fresh stuff- which were by now wilted and perished. so that all went back.
2nd delivery (gave them the benefit of the doubt, and tried again cos I had a voucher) I recieved 2 bags of someone elses stuff, along with my complete order. after a few phone calls back and forth they said just to keep it.... a bit disorganised!!!0 -
Well I've written a complaint but won't use again.
Tesco once didn't deliver but they rang during slot as van
had broken down and arranged delivery for next day and gave me
£10 voucher which was nice.
Its the not hearing anything and having to chase to get
my own money back that grates, I wonder if I hadn't rung
if they would hve refunded me now:-)0 -
i always used asda as the dates are well in advance, shopping bagged, fresh stuff spot on.never had a problem until one night a delivery driver decided to go home without telling anybody, abandoned the van!!asda manager delivered my shop half hour late and i got delivery refunded and a voucher.i think it depends on the store.i used to use tesco at first and the salad, veg etc were always minging, thrown better away and loads of stuff was on the date being delivered on sell by date.got rank chicken fillets one day and the veg was slimey.complained and didnt use them for over 12 months.they now do the delivery from a different store and its fantastic again.i tend to alternate and use both.Shine on you crazy diamond..............0

This has happened to me with Tesco and Sainbury's, so it's definitely not a problem only found with ASDA. I emailed a strongly-worded email to the relevant customer services department. On both occasions I received a voucher for money off my next order (in Tesco's case, they cancelled my next order ha!).0

I have used Asda home delivery before and found them to be amazingly dire. Things on the verge of being out of date, things missing, extra things added (someone else's shopping), deliveries late, picking errors. I have a couple of vouchers sat in my account from the last couple of times I've had to complain, but I'm not using them as I won't shop there again. I stick with Sainsburys now as they're always pretty good and I've had no major problems with them."A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

Hi
Once had Asda not turn up and I had to have cereal for tea at 10pm! Not happy. Since then they've been okay but I've swapped to Sainsburys as their Basics range is much better - have had 2 deliveries and the quality of the fresh stuff has also been excellent.
Asda and Tesco were picking 20 eggs to be used on the day - same for some of the fruit and veg - I worked out that I throw less stuff away with Sainsburys so actually more economical.
Have given Asda the benefit of the doubt one too many times!0
