Amazon about to sell grocery's

I was interested in getting some spices which would have been very useful if they were postage free. However at £2.85 postage for one small bag of garlic powder, and another £1.95 postage for a small jar of onion powder (both from different sellers) it makes no sense at all.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

They are only selling "long life" stuff, not loaves of bread and fresh cream cakes.
Don't you just hate it when you have to apologise and tell the world you were wrong
:o
Sorry I was wrong (again) they do sell fresh stuff. I've just noticed the Meat, Poultry & Sausages section, not to mention the fish section!
That'll teach me to speed read the menu then make out I know everything they sell

Some of the prices are outrageous.
Take a look at the Crisps. A 48 multi pack of Walkers Lights Ready Salted (24g) for £19.20!!! Am I missing something? I'm sure I've seen the 26 pack at Morrisons for about £3. All their Crisps seem ridiculously overpriced, but I will probably try some other food that you normally wouldn't find at Morrisons/Tesco, etc.marlasinger0 -

26-packs of Walkers crisps were just £2 at Morrisons a few days ago- I don't know if the offer is still on...0 -

You always get that on Amazon, take a look at any item for sale on amazon then hit the new/used links to look at other sellers selling the same thing. You often find that most are selling the item for "the going rate" but there are a couple of sellers with ridiculous prices.0 -
from what ive heard the food prices and deivery , or "shipping" prices are out of the roof and also the treat the delivery as they would with books etc meaning it turns up at any time or day ....no thankyou0

This is cheap: £6.40 for 1 bottle of beer.

The brewery itself charges £25 for 12

Indeed. This won't take off, no matter how much free publicity the newspaper rags supply them with. They're probably adding enormous surcharges to goods like that because people too lazy to get off their behind and walk to a shop will just think, "Ah, well, don't mind spending a couple of quid extra if it saves me the bother of having to put one foot in front of the other..." How lazy does one have to be to sit at home like a vegetable while groceries are delivered to their door? Eugh.0 -
IT's not about laziness, I have my shopping delivered to save time.
carrying 5 slabs of dog food every month is too much for me on top of everything else I have to do.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Are you telling me that the only way you can get your shopping is if it's delivered to you? Don't you have someone who could go with you and assist you in carrying it or bringing it home?
I'm quite positive there are solutions people could work out instead of choosing the vegetable option of sitting at home while groceries are sent to them.0
