i am pretty sure the form that you fill in for the jobcentre about your voluntary work doesnt even ask about the hours you work. as i have said already they dont check up on you at all. their time is fully taken up with chasing after people illegally working for money while claiming jsa.

I can backup the comment made above by busy mom, in which aslong as the company you went to do voluntary work with is a Registered Charity, then you can work as many hours per week as you wish on the condition that your still making yourself available 7 days a week to accept paid employment in the event that the Job Centre find you employment. If the company is not a registered charity, then your are limited to working with them for 16 hours per week.
I was doing roughly 2/3 days - 16/24 hours a week with Learn Direct & the bonus being that I got courses & NVQ Qualification for free & sorted out with minimal hassle due to the environment I was working in :-). So worth thinking about volunteering for them if you like working with PC's, as you could get free training & courses on Business Admin or any other General Office Job if that's your thing :-).
