i ordered a wireless controller and games from pc world online over the weekend. yesterday i get an email stating " we have cancelled your order".no reason why they cancelled and so ignorant!
today i get another email stating " your money will get refunded shortly to your account within the next few days.
i cant beleive it . they have cancelled my order with no reason why and taken my money which isnt back in my account as of yet.
im fuming mad. who can i contact to make a serious complaint ( they only supply an 0845 number )as the emails were so basic and abrupt to be honest . disgusting service indeed.i thought once they took your money the deal was legally binding

I wouldn't waste my time complaining, their online and telephone teams are complete muppets and if you spend a long time composing an email you'll just get another generic reply back. I've been there, tried that and given up.
Unfortunately Dixons Store Group (Dixons, PC World and Currys are all the same lot) keep coming up with grand schemes to turn the business around but don't get that looking after basic customer enquiries is the most important thing.
Sorry that doesn't help but next time vote with your feet, try and use smaller or better companies that actually have customer services rather than sending off template emails.
As to the legals if they don't have the stock then they don't have the stock. Or you might have failed their security checks...either way if they don't want to sell to you you are better off with your money back. The delay for the refund is because credit card companies take about 3 days to process the refund so to be fair to them that part isn't their fault.0 -
You're getting worked up over nothing. They have a right to cancel your order for any reason, but most likely is no stock. The contract is not legally binding, they can cancel and refund any time prior to despatch. The emails may seem gruff, but they are just templates sent out, not a person typing a personal message just for you. Get over it, and order one from somewhere else.We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

If its any consolation, the money is not with PC world, its with the bank who take way too long to put it into your account. Banks are crafty and make their cash in ways they don't think you notice. Its the banks fault just as much as PC worlds fault.
Maybe email and ask them why they cancelled the order? could be many things- a delay in the delivery to them, a problem with the machines themselves which meant the entire batch had to be returned, being over subscribed.... may be their ignorance but could be something else.0 -

Your entire post was pointless, you're complaining over nothing, that's why you need to "get over it". People seem to think everything is legally in their favour and start jack booting all over their perceived consumer rights, simple fact is they did nothing wrong and you're just being needlessly bitter because life doesn't always go your way...dread to think what you're like when you have a real problem.

I'm fairly sure that once money is taken the contract is formed. Not that it would do much good for the OP to try to force compliance with the contract, but legally I suspect DSG are on dodgy ground.
Otherwise, what is to stop anyone selling on a "hedge" basis and taking people's money without being able to supply, in the hope that they can get a supply at a low price, to then make a decent profit?0 -
