Need a new bank account

Hi

I need to open a new bank account as I am having problems with my Abbey account. I have bad credit and am currently dealing with payplan to try and pay it off.
What are the best bank accounts about, I ideally need a debit card and maybe a cheque book aswell.
I have heard Natwest will do a solo card, but I had a debt with them about 5 years ago.

Many thanks

  • I moved mine to First Direct recently. I like the online management and you get £50 if you open a new account too!

  • I have seriously bad debt and credit, but they still let me open an account. I have a debit card (maestro) which is accepted at most places. I also have an overdraft with them, which I am trying to get rid of.. as I don't want more debt!!
