Sale of Goods Act

I bought a jet washer last year from B&Q. Its now pouring from the body with water and wont turn off, when I release the handle.
B&Q said its out of warranty and down to Karcher to sort out.
Its 14 months old.
Is this right? I have heard about this sale of goods act but was unsure what my right are.
I've rang Karcher who told me yes its out of 12mths warranty so tough basically.
Any advice welcome.

Take it back to B+Q - your contract is with them. A pressure washer should last more than 14 months."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I have been to B&Q and they said its out of warranty and not their problem.:(0

The warranty is offered by the manufacturer, not by B+Q, and is in addition to your statutory rights under the Sale of Goods Act, not a replacement for those said rights. B+Q are trying to fob you off."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
What should I do/say to B&Q to make them honour this act?0

Although a jet washer should last longer than 14 months, I thought that after 6 months it is up to the buyer to prove that there was an inherent fault in the first place ?“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -

As phoodless says, after 6 months it is the consumers responsibility to prove that the item in question is inherently faulty, and any faults haven't been caused by misuse etc. The only way you could get B&Q to play ball is to get an independent report done, which will however, cost you to get...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
