Hardy Perennial Plant for a Grave

Looking for something to plant on a cemetery plot for a lady that will live on year after year. So probably a perennial, something that will flower around April time, last for the spring & summer, die back in winter then bloom again in Spring.
I'm a complete noddy when it comes to plants & gardening so I'm looking for advice as to the best plant. I definitely don't want anything artificial. The cemetery is in the West of England (Somerset coast) and he plot will be regularly tended by family so any advice would be gratefully received.

A perennial geranium would work, clump forming, doesn't need much tending, forgiving on poor soil and flowers for a long time, and liked by bees too
A selection here:

Just picked that site as they had a good selection with photos.

I was also going to suggest perennial geraniums. My grandma asked me to plant some in her garden not long ago - they are attractive, colourful, and quite 'dainty' looking."Your life is what your thoughts make it"

You could also plant say crocus & primroses /polyanthus
OK will not bloom into summer, but will certainly appear in spring year after yearEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Perennial geraniums do look like wild flowers (lovely as Ive tons of them) but I wonder what the policy is re gardening at the churchyard. I know our Church warden drives a bloomin great grass cutter over the graves. Disappointing when you go and see your miniature rose bush has disappeared
Ive planted tete a tete daffs, crocuses and snowdrops, because they come out early before the grass cutter is back in action.0
