FTB - mortgage offer, searches done, what are we waiting for?

Hiya
We have just had our mortgage offer accepted today, we will get the documents in the post in the next couple of days.

All the searches are done. Valuation has been done too...

There is no chain and the sellers are after a quick sale...

What comes next? We have not had a completion date through yet.

Thanks in advance

Emma x

Have the seller's solicitors sent through all the required papers to your solicitors?

Have they answered satisfactorily any questions your solicitor has raised with them?

Best thing is to ask your solicitor what more needs to be done and get a rough idea of how long things will now take. However until contracts have been exchanged, when the completion date is finally set, do not start making important arrangements based upon any assumption of when completion may be.

As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.

The sellers solicitors have sent through everything and have answered all questions raised as far as I know. My mortgage advisor has sent an email yesterday asking what is left to do from thier end but we havent had a reply yet.

The place needs stripping/painting/new carpets so we wont be making arrangments until we have the keys in hand...

    Thank you! x

Ring your solicitor and ask him/her if there is anything else (s)he needs or is waiting for. If the answer is no, instruct him/her to ring the seller's solicitor to ask the same question!
If their answer is also no, and since there is no chain, they should be able to agree a completion date and exchange contracts.
