Good news PWPS - especially on the day off!0

1% (£10) sent to the loan this morning, now 62%/100%
Have started the new 2011 VSP today, £6.48 is my new total! This is actually going to be added to my ISA savings, I will unveil the current total once I'm debt free! Last year's VSP total was £206.34 which is in my ISA too.
I know it will seem a little stupid counting my ISA savings and then the VSP separate but it helps me to see just how much extra I save by rounding down to the closest £10 every Friday!
OH's last day at work todayHopefully he might get some news when he finishes, the local oil firm he has been contracted to have been expressing lots of interest in keeping him there, especially after his dedication getting in to work every day this week even with the snow!

Well done on the payment Pennies.

Sister transferred £200 of the £300 she was due me today so that has gone straight to the loan today, I'm now 80%/100% :j She says I will get the other £100 shortly and since I only have £213.03 left to pay today I am now very confident that I will acheive my 27 day target!

Thanks, feels so close now! Just want to pay it all off now, but at the same time don't want to rush and then leave myself short for the rest of the month!
Although we do get paid early in December, usually before Christmas...think it is more realistic to keep 31 Dec as my deadline as there are a couple of things that could cause hiccups along the way...
The last £100 from my sister, she will get paid on Xmas eve by cheque...how long will a cheque take to clear with a 4 day bank holiday for the banks?
Still waiting on £32 expenses
£216.07...
£32 expenses leaves £184.07
£25 to loan leaves £159.07
£26 deduction from Dec wages leaves £133.07
£100 from sister? leaves £33.07...
I don't want to leave it too late to achieve my goal!VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
God I'm an idiot!
When I get paid early I can use the excess from my Dec pay to pay the full balance and will definately be debt free! :j:j:jVSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
Yes! Expenses are in...well they're out now actually! As soon as I spied them in my account they got moved straight over to the loan! Just over 3% (£32) sent today, now 83%/100%
£184.09 left to go...it's funny because where I used to be so obsessed about paying the debt, I now find myself obsessing about how much I could save next year and how much better being debt free will be!
OH restarted at his work yesterday, he's been told as long as there is work at the oil refinery he is contracted to then he will have a job, but if the work dries up at the refinery then they would probably let him go...at least he has a job!
