My DS loves the marmite cereal bars, well anything with marmite really. Has anyone tried making their own homemade marmite bars. They are 1.99 for 6 so not cheap. I am sure it must be possible to make them, but have no idea where to start. Thanks

Marmite cereal bars?????
Never heard of them. Presumably they are savoury but what ingredients are in them and what sort of texture? I'm sure someone will have a similar recipie and I might myself if only I knew what they were!0 -
I like Marmite, but Marmite cereal bars just sounds so wrong!
I've never seen them either so had a quick look on the Waitrose site to see what the ingredients are.
Cereals (Wheat, Rice, Oat),Soya Kernels,Rice Starch Syrup,Marmite (16%) (Yeast Extract, Salt, Vegetable Extract, Niacin, Thiamin, Spice Extracts (contains Celery),Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12),Palm Fat,Sugar,Barley Malt Extract,Salt
I think I'd start with a basic flapjack recipe and adapt it using oats and rice crispies, marmite instead of syrup and add some spices or a crumbled stock cube and butter.0 -
I love Marmite as do my girls, but we didnt like the bars, just didnt seem right0

hate marmite myself, have just made some marmite flapjacks, used marmite and peanut butter instead of syrup. Cooking at the moment, will get DH and DD to taste later. Will not be trying the myself!0

tasty and a healthy snack

DH and DD think the flapjacks are ok slightly too much marmite, I haven't tried them.0

There is a Cranks recipe for Cheesejacks which are savoury flapjacks which are nice. Maybe you could add the marmite to the cheese in that. Sorry - I've mislaid the recipe ATM but some one might have a version.
