DLA payment schedule?

Morning !!

Could anyone tell me if the 4 weekly DLA payments are paid in arrears or in advance ?

Hi there

They pay in arrears. What they do is pay you the amount they owe you from the date of your application to the date of the decision, then every 4 weeks thereafter.

Example

Application date 01/02/10
Decision date 19/03/10
First Payment: 01/02/10 to 19/03/10 would be made the following week
Next Payment: 20/03/10 to 17/04/10 would be made on 17th or thereabouts
Next Payment: 18/04/10 to 15/05/10 would be made on 15th or thereabouts
