Benefit Claim - Inheritance

Hi
I was wondering if anyone can help me. I am looking to retrain and my salary is going to be approx £14k which I believe entitle me to full housing and council benefit as well as working tax credits.
My question is, is that my wife is shortly due to inherit approx £20k which we are wanting to pass onto (save) for our son who is 3 years old.
Will the money being in my wife's name or my sons name affect my entitlement to our benefits?

I doubt on 14k plus wtc you will get full rent paid. It will only be a small amount0

The inheritance will take your joint household capital over the limit. Transferring the money to your son will not change this.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
