I have recently been conned by Opal Telecom. They rang me to offer a "better deal" than my current supply, said they were from my broadband supplier (who they have taken over) and conned me into a deal which ended up actually costing more.
Beware of Opal!! :(

Phone slamming is an illegal practice, in which a subscriber's telephone service is changed without their consent.Sounds like from what you say you gave them permission to change to them.

If you were aware they were taking your line over how did they slam you.

    Conned then!!!
They claimed to be from Freedom to Surf - offered me a deal from them and removed my F2S call deal despite assuring me I would retain it.

So they possibly missold to you.

Have you tried asking them to resinstate the call bundle?

Freedom2surf is now a trading name of Pipex Internet Limited, part of the TalkTalk Group and is run by Opal.

Yes - I did and F2S said their call bundle can't be routed through Opal and the change was not initiated by them. I have had a number of email and written correspondence with Opal but they have now deadlocked the complaint. Formal complaint with Otelo now.
Just wanted to give a bit of warning to others.

Nonsense !!! Your subject to your suppliers minimum term, and normally pay a cancellation fee if you cancel early.

Quite - and the fee from Opal is £300 in the first year and £125 in the second so another good reason to stay clear.
