    If you take of the childcare, it's only £552 a week then her housing costs and council tax, plus bills and the kids.

    I can understand your frustration but it's not going to help your relationship if you let yourself dwell on this. If you have a baby, you won't be working 50 hours a week, you'll be on maternity, and if your partner wants to reduce his hours to a more normal level to have more family time then your income will drop and you won't be over the tax credit threshold. Plus, once there's a new child the amount of maintenance he pays can legitimately be reduced, as is the case with CSA assessments. So it's not all doom and gloom!

    I think you've accidentally included the word "only" - it's actually the equivalent to a wage of £38.5k per annum. For 20-25 hrs work a week.

    I bet taxpayers earning £10k per annum are pleased to see where there money is going.

    that's alot more than I earn
    500 child care
    525 rent
    1300 for bills and spending??? I think that's quite alot- more than we're left with?? Jointing working 100+ hours a week??? No wonder people won't work

    I'd say 550+ a week for her + a 5yr old and a 3 yr old is pretty good!

    UNfortunately I have played with loads of figuers in entitled to- it appears if I gave up completely or part time we would get only family element of CTC and we just cant pay the bills without my income. My OH job doesn't allow him to change his hours- it's a tiny company (2 emplyees other than directors) and he works the hours as he has to- he's currently trying to negotiate a pay rise due to hours (he's paid salary- so hours aren't counted as such).

    I will have my own kids but I guess I have to accept I will be going back after 3 months maternity and taking them to a childminder ( and enjoying the holidays with them). My OH will have to be sports day man, taking to doctors etc.-I just have to accept that.
  • I'm really sorry if this is in the wrong part of the forum I've never been on one before, I am in receipt of ESA & DLA my ex husband pays child maintenance of £135 every 4 weeks which is from time to time late. Is this the correct amount he should be paying?

    Depends what your ex husband earns, how many children he is paying for, if the child/ren stay over night with him.

    They are saying your stepdaughter is a golden ticket in terms of benefits entitlement for whichever parent she lives with. It's an aspersion on your intentions in starting this thread - odd, since this would be against the rules of the forum.
