Job seekers run on

Hi i wondered if anyone new if there is such a thing as a run on payment once you have employment, my daughter has been fortunate enough to get a job, she was taken on on Monday and was meant to be doing a week training to see if they would employ her, today she was told she has the job although it is a month in hand, so she will have to wait to receive her first wage, she was due to sign on on Thursday, i just wondered where she stands as of course she will have to find bus fares dinners and general living expenses for a month until she is payed

She should have claimed help from the Adviser's Discretionary Fund before she started work ... they might have helped out with fares etc. Apart from that there's a Job Grant available (£100/£250 depending on your daughter's circs), if she lives in her own home there's possibility of housing benefit/mortgage interest/council tax benefit run ons. Crisis Loans from the Social Fund are also available to tide her over until her 1st wages are due.
I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.
