I too work for MBNA - and I find this very strange. But then again, many things there are strange so maybe I shouldn't be so suprised.

Hi mate, as you work for MBNA, you probably would know a bit more about MBNA lending policy. Can you confirm for the record that MBNA USUALLY do not issue CC's to anyone who have an imperfect credit history...ie defaults?

Careful what you post on here if there's a chance Oscar52 can be traced to you.

I imagine the Amazon credit card is getting loads of applications from people who don't actually require a credit card just so people get their paws on the freebie, but then if that is the case then once people have the credit card they may be tempted to use it.

Unable to say for definite - every lender is tightening their belts, some more than others.

I know of people (personally) that have gained a card with an imperfect history and others been refused with a perfect history.
No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

I've heard from someone who works at MBNA that they are refusing to issue people with good credit ratings an Amazon credit card as they fear they won't incur any interest on the card.
Would certainly explain the rejections highlighted on this thread.
