Advice regarding redundancy

Hi all,
This is my very post so apologies if I don't get it right! I'm looking for some advice on behalf of my mum.
She has worked for a small company for 12 years with no official contract. On Jan 5 of this year she had a bad accident and has been off sick since. She has only ever received SSP. About six weeks ago her boss visited her at home, she said she was hoping to be back at work within a few weeks and he told her she was being made redundant.
He said he could pay her SSP until the end of July and then she would be made redundant.
I am looking for some advice on what she could be entitled to. Particularly the situation regarding notice pay. We are both very confused by this particular area!
Thanks
S

Assuming that you have included everything here, then you must speak to a solicitor as quickly as possible. In order to make someone redundant you do not just drop around and tell them - there are consultation periods and other "stuff" that the employer has to do, and this may be an unfair dismissal. If you don't have legal insurance (or a union) then most solicitors do a free introductory session, or you could try a no win no fee solicitor. Although the latter often get bad press (but what lawyer doesn't?) there are some good ones and they can often give a very realistic assessment of your chances of a case because they don't get paid "win or loose" like other solicitors! You could ask around for a recommendation or ask CAB for one - they often have knowledge of what are good practices in the area.0
