Don't know about the NID thing but the problem with banning all posters if the above occurs is that some people are reported as part of a vendetta to get rid of them and if the above was introduced then those eejits who took particular exception to someone would have even more power to get rid of people.

My hope is pinned to the "validation" bit, that a mod or board guide would verify it really is abuse before banning on 2nd time, that would avoid vendettas.

I'd like to add another caveat - newbies not allowed to report abuse until they've reached 30 posts

Do you mean IP addresses? ISP's are service providers - if you banned a whole ISP just because of one troll/ AE, you would lose a lot of members!

The problem with banning IP addresses is that it is incredibly easy to either hide behind a different IP address, or to create a new one. Any determined troll will get around it (and one regular AE openly admits to having had their IP address blocked).

This has been asked numerous times. Unfortunately the answer has always been no. I am not sure of the reason?
