I would really like to get a (small) set of number plates for my mobility scooter. Do they have to confirm to any regulations and can anyone tell me where I can get them?

If you choose to display number plates they must conform to all current laws, we went through this a couple of years ago and I think its daft but its the law.0 -
OK, thank you, people have told me they've seen a mobility scooter with number plates so I phoned the local car shop who only do a square numberplate for the back of motorbikes. I thought there must be somewhere who makes them. I will look into the current laws. Did you get number plates on your scooter?0

I'm having trouble getting these for my father. He is registered with the DVLA and is fully insured but he can't find the right number plates that fit. Surely they are regulated and have to be a certain size? Who does them?0

when i checked u did not need plates, as u dont need mot as u dont have to have insurance, but yes insurance is good to have. i have had to ring dla evey year as they have not sent tax every year, one year it was six months out of date they sent me new tax disc and a sorry note.;)0

The only plates available will be car or motorcycle, the m/c ones being smaller. There is no provision for anything else as class 3 scooters do not need them.0
