Obviously YOU have a problem !
Explain where anyone can get a better deal ie more money in our pockets.
No problem here, I'm cool as a cucumber.
I'll explain where you can get a better deal if you spell out exactly how your 5% interest works.0 -

Anywhere else, except Barclays, it would appear.
If they give you cards that you can't reasonably use abroad, you can't get any 'money in your pockets' at all abroad can you now?
There's more to service and accounts than getting 5% on your Santander current account†‡
† only on the first £100, 0.001% thereafter
‡ Subject to you also contributing £1,000 per week into our super-dooper "we promise not to lie" equity based product which will give you 150%§ increase in value
§ only if held for over 75 years. Partial withdrawals not permitted before then.

Even MoneySaving Expert, recommend Santander for the best deal for a Current Account. For you to disagree you must have a personal problem. Speak as you find- Santander have been a good choice, give me a better deal and I would take-it. Recommend a better Current Account, and yes it is all about money.
I get an average of £10.85 interest paid every month just by keeping my account in credit with £2450. You cannt beat that anywhere at the present time. Over £2500 use a higher interest saving account or ISA.
I visited 12 caribbean islands last year and used the Santander Zero credit card without any problem. Before I went I spoke to Customer Services and listed all countries where I was visiting. No problem at all, card worked every time. Why do you have a problem ???0 -

It's not interest. It's compensation for using a sh*t bank.
Halifax pay £5 a month for banking with them and paying £1000 in.
Depends how you look at it - it's them paying for customers, rather than a "true" interest rate.0 -
That may be the case, but you may notice they certainly don't recommend them for good customer service.travellerboy wrote:Even MoneySaving Expert, recommend Santander for the best deal for a Current Account.
Indeed. As do lots of other people on here. For you to disagree you must have a personal problem.
No, it's not all about money. Well, not in the way you seem to think about it.Recommend a better Current Account, and yes it is all about money.
My time is worth more than £10.85 per hour, and judging from my last experience with one of Santander's tentacles, I'd be spending more than an hour (longer) a month on their pittance of a website managing my accounts; assuming of course, that they bother to send me all the correct documentation and forms to fill out to actually open any sort of account with them.
Personally? Indolent staff, useless online banking (and online account applications come to think of it - in fact online anything,) inability to send out correct ISA transfer documentation. Why do you have a problem ???
Some things are worth £10.85 per month. My time spent working around Santander's policies, procedures and website isn't one of them.
And judging from other threads on here, time spent on the phone to Santander trying to get Santander to sort out problems isn't others' idea of time (or phone bills) well spent either.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

Why on earth do you still bank with them, it is easy to switch.
I have never had a problem with them, everything at least for the last 3 years everything has been fine. No compliants whatsoever. If I had I would have switched immediately.0 -

so santander sill let people sign up for their high interest isa?0

Didn't realise that you had to let Santander know before going away.
Just returned from a honeymoon in Vienna and didn't experience any problems when using the card, and I hadn't told them before going or used it before the holiday.0
