Great joint current accounts... is there such a thing?....

Hi there,
I wondered if any of you could offer some advice please?

I am moving in with my boyfriend of 5 years and we are looking to get a current account together so we can both have a debit card and pay for bills and utilities when needing to.

I am currently with Nationwide and only 'allowed' a cash card (not debit) due to a CCJ that is due to expire in 10 months time (yipee!) :j with an average salary, never missed any payments/dd's or anything and work full time with my expenditure lower than my income and regularly save a 'small' amount of money and have been doing so for a year now.

He is currently with Lloyds with a high salary, mortgage, credit cards albeit a bit slap dash with making payments on time (lazy) and he is self employed.

We are looking to save about £10k over the next year and pool the remainder of money into one account to live off of and do up our new house. Can anyone recommend a bank that would offer what we are looking for?.....

All advice much appreciated- I really do not even know where to start!

Thanks :D
:j :jTotally and utterly debt free as of 27/05/09!!!:j :j

Current accounts are simply current accounts - they offer the same terms whether joint or sole.

However ........ given the fact your credit rating isn't 100% - it would be foolish to link yourself (joint current account does that) with your boyfriend as you will damage his rating. Best, therefore, to continue separate accounts until your rating improves.
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
