Assuming that both are connected to the same network (e.g. both plugged into local network ports on your router), simply connect the printer via USB on one and enable printer sharing.
How you do the last step will depend on what Operating System is running on each.0 -
Printer sharing is the best option with LAN connection.0

Dear Emerald,
I would imagine you probably have your desktop connected to a router via an ethernet cable and your netbook will have wireless of course. If you do, and you want to be able to print wirelessly, PM me or email me simon@griggs.dyndns.biz and I will give you the details you need. I need to know the Operating System of your laptop and desktop, then I can help you.

I'd probably suggest a USB-Ethernet print server. Printer sharing is a pain, assuming you don't leave the machine with the printer attached to it turned on 24/7. They're not dirt cheap, but they'd pay for themselves in convenience immediately, and in electricity savings in a year or so.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

Why not posting it here so that others could profit from it? This is how a forum works...
Edit: There is a sticky thread with a lot of links regarding file and printer sharing.0
