My 7 year old DD has been doing photography for a while now and really loves it, she's good at it, but her camera has just broken, it was an older Kodak we gave her and I'd like to give her a new one, so her interest is kept up.
I've provisionally narrowed it down to 3.

They all give what seems to be about the same performance and ease of use and a 3.5x optical zoom, I know she really would want and use as big a zoom as poss, as she loves the high one I have on my camera and I know she missed not having one on her old one.
The other option is to go for something like this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-Lumix-FS30-Digital-Camera/dp/B0031MA144/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1276077174&sr=1-1
which tbh is probably too expensive and risky to give a 7 year old, although she does take care of them.
Do you have any opinions on my theory's or choices?
Thanks!

something like this might be a good idea as its 5x optical zoom and has a metal casing which should make it a bit sturdier

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
Have a look at these. I like the FinePix S1500 for £99.59 but there are others cheaper.
