Just a question when i switch on my pc in the morning it comes to life everything loads as normal but i have noticed that my router its a wireless router but I dont use it wireless Were ever my Ethernet cable is plugged into 1,2,3 or 4 keeps flashing on and off quickly for a long time afterwards all other lights are green. I was just thinking could it be sending info to another site. hope you can understand what I am trying to get at or say. The reason I am asking my son had his email hacked and something or someone sent emails to all his contacts and i dont want it to happen to me Thanks

Sounds perfectly normal. The wireless aspect of the router will still be broadcasting information about itself whether or not there is anyone connected to it.
You should have set up the security options on the router when you first installed it. Can you confirm that when you look in the settings that you have WEP/WPA/WPA2 selected and a decent password in place? Doing those will go a long way to prevent anyone from hijacking your internet connection.
The thing you mentioned to do with email is more likely to be the result of a malware infection than any external access. While you're thinking about it though, what security software do you use on your computers? Can't do anything but help to give it a review.0 -
Go into the router page by typing in 192.168.0.1 and turn off your wireless connectivity, save then job done. No worries
