Timescale ... to exchange contracts (no property chain at bottom or top)

Hi all,

Solicitor advice or those in the know is appreciated.

So we have accepted an offer on hour house from a chap with finance in place (no property to sell) and the house we are buying we are ready to exchange contracts with (they are going into rented accommodation).

He will be applying for mortgage on the property and then the only work to be done is queries on our house (which we have now answered twice already to two different Buyers !!!).

Obviously depending on how long the mortgage offer takes and answers to the queries take would it be reasonable to expect exchange /completion to be done in say 6 to 8 weeks ???

    Those timescales seem very doable.

Were in the same position really, just had an offer accepted, instructing the solicitor, going through with our mortgage AIP. The only real difference is we have to give 2 months notice on our current rental, im trying to work it so that we give the two months & everything is sorted on the purchase within 8 weeks so we dont end up paying an extra months rent when we dont need to so your time frame sounds achievable.
