Please help me choose between these 2 camcorders

I have no knowledge of these so dont really know whats best,

Vivitar dvr 865HD £55 amazon +£3.99 del, OR
Samsung U10 FULL HD ultra compact £69.99 free del

Now to me the samsung seems much better for only a small amount more, even though i think the vivitar looks better - well, looks more like a camcorder anyway.
So which is best? The samsung takes 10mp stills too and the vivitar only 8. Just want to make sure before i buy. Please help! Thanks
Everyone who thanks me when ive helped will get a 5% share when I win this weeks Euromillions......:p

Sanyo do a new Xacti VPC CG10 handheld which is HD and 10 mp with 5 x optical zoom, supposed to be good. I was looking at these but decided for a Panasonic Lumix ZX1 which is a 12 mp camera with 5 x optical zoom that does HD recording and produces great quality footage and pics. It also allows you to zoom in whilst recording footage and I can assure you the HD footage I took this weekend is just like watching a DVD!

I am so impressed. I do accept in extremely low light conditions it may struggle, although I can switch off the special iA mode and select night mode which will change the ISO settings and improve the night recordings.

Ask yourself what you really want it for, pictures or movies or best of both worlds. If its best take my advice, if its a camera again take my advice, if its movie get a dedicated Camcorder, the new flash types are good. At the end of the day its what your budget is that dictates what you buy.

I visited plenty of review sites and Photographyblogs site for info. Most importantly read what customers actually say, their the people like you and me that give their experiences. Also go on youtube and type in the make you want to look at, theres loads of videos of the Lumix ZX1.

I got mine for £130 delivered from Play.com, as its silver (you can get a white looking one!) but black ones are £180-£200. On ebay there sell for about £130 for black, but I have a 12 month guarantee and Panasonic are a good make!!

    Good luck
