Hi Guys
Thinking of getting this laptop as currently I don't believe I need a desk top because all I seem to do is surf, e-mail, shop and watch online TV, use itunes and upload photos and mess about with GIMP. If i didn't do the latter I believe I'd be happy just with my iphone!
I think this is pretty good spec and within budget however I am not sure if I am still 'spending' too much?

Any thoughts?

Only you can decide if you are spending too much. You could do all that you've mentioned on a £300 laptop.
That Lenovo seems to be aimed more at portability than performance - if the machine will mostly be used at home you should probably look for a bigger screen.
On Lenovo themselves - they were the IBM business range of machines at one time so are usually good quality but don't offer a huge bang per buck.0 -
If the only app you are running is Gimp then you might consider the Lenovo U350.
It's got reasonable reviews and costs £150 less.
You could add a couple of extra GB of RAM if GIMP is sluggish.
Or try paint.net and get a better user interface

Thanks guys
The only reason for not going for U350 is I'd like a CD/DVD drive and the screen is too much. 14" is max I set myself. Will look at paint.net however
Given what you've said I will only be using at home so think this might be better really

and £100 cheaper. Thanks0
