dont ask the surveyor who did the survey when you bought (if it was only a valuation survey) as s/he works for the Lender and is not impartial.... it might only cost a couple of hundred quid to get a local independent survey done for OP personally... but wait and see what a Solicitor says first of all....0

They are impartial. They will be employed by a company independant of the mortgage company who were contracted to complete a valuation on their behalf. The OP would now be discussing a valuation on their behalf. Who better to advise on the value of the house than someone who has actually inspected it.0
