Looking for some advice

I am currently in a position, where having sold my house this weekend, and been in my job three months, I can look round to buy a house.
I am married and have two children (2 1/2yo) twins, and for the last three years have been living in a one bedroom house / staying with parents.
We desperatly want to get on with our lives and buy a house to settle down, however with talk of a double dip and everything, should we look for a house now, or put up with it for a few months / years? We can probably just about afford a decent size family house.
Any thoughts would be gratefully received,

you have 2 options:
1. crystal ball gaze and either smugly say told you so at sometime in the future or drat got that wrong then
or
2. do as you say and get on with your life now, which may involve some risk to you over a) job, b) house prices c) relationship, d) life and death or anynumber of other imponderables0 -
