Alliance & Leicester Internet Banking down?

I've not been able to get into A&L online banking for over a week now. I've called them twice and they just tell me they are migrating accounts from A&L to Santander and it's taking longer than planned, but surely no access to my bank account for over a week is a bit much!

Has anyone else had this problem?

And given how much the banks like to charge us for nothing, am I entitled to claim anything back from them for not giving access to my account? I think a few hours or even 2 days offline is a nuisance, but a week is ridiculous.

There are other threads here on this very subject and this process has taken up to 8 days for some. I highly doubt you will get any sort of recompense for lack of internet access. You should still be able to use your account in the "traditional" way, and as the internet service is free you are not out of pocket for its temporary absence.

Unfortunately you will just have to be patient. I have this still to come as my account(s) hasn't been migrated yet.

Since A&L is being dragged down to Santander's level of customer service I am looking around for another account atm. Barclays did their credit search on me yesterday, so I should hear back from them in the next couple of days.
