You seem to be aware that you have a 3 rate supply.
Why not contact the supplier and ask them what the 3 rates relate to?
My guess is that they will be:
Day
Night
Heat (or sometimes called control)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Hi thanks for replying.yes i am aware there are 3 rates and i know number 3 rate is the storage heat rate and its meant to be on a timer but its shows as being active.ie rate now shows on meter.24/7 so think its charging 24/7 instead of only charging when the timer kicks in?? anyone if this true thank you0

As well as storage heaters, it may also be used for direct acting electric heaters (panel heaters, fan heaters, etc), water heaters, showers, towal rails etc. Therefore whilst the storage heaters are timed (which is variable in duration depending on the weather), the control supply itself is not.

hI yes the water heating is the only thing thats uses storage heating and comes on 00.00 to 05.00.....13.00 to 16.00..... 20.00 to 22.00 same as ecm 10 times.nothing else runs from it aprat from the under floor heating ie storage.ive switched it all off now storage water etc.and its still says on meter.rate now.even thou nothing is being charged.the timer seems to be on 24/7???0

The supply is live 24/7.
But if you are not using it, it shouldn't record any consumption.
If you only use it during timed periods, it should only record consumption during those periods.
Now that you think you have turned everything off, take a meter reading and take another in an hour's time (keeping everything turned off) and see what consumption has been measured.
If any has, contact your supplier."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
