re working tax credits

I am 50 In 2 weeks time will my working tax credit go up / Or will it stay the same
I know if i was on benefits and just got a job it would go up .

But i cannot find out if it applys to me as i am already working i work 30 a week and get WTC

    It will stay the same.

    There is a '50 plus' element but that is only paid to those over 50 who are returning to work after receiving certain benefits for a certain period of time.

    If you fulfilled the criteria and were returning to work after turning 50 then your Working Tax Credit could be paid if you worked 16 rather than 30 hours per week. You would also receive up to an extra £37.78 per week as a '50+ return to work element' for the first 12 months if working 30+ hours and up to £25.38 per week for working 16-29 hours (first 52 weeks again) though with the latter you'd be receiving less wages obviously. However as you are already in work you can't get these extras.

    The 50+ tax credits are being removed from April 2012.
