You might want to look at his diet - adding a tablespoon full of vegetable might help. Powdered kelp is also good for the coat. Regular grooming at least means the hair all comes out in one place and is more easily contained. Does he get stressed at all (lots of barking) as stress will also cause the coat to drop. Thyroid conditions can also affect it - needs a full blood test from the vet.
To keep the house clean - a 'Zoom Groom' brush is brilliant for the stairs (and many dogs like being groomed with it too......)
HTHPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
kill the dog turn it into a coat and blem it on cheap forgien imports
(only kidding)THE SHABBY SHABBY FOUNDER0 -
Central heating in the winter won't help as the dog thinks it's stil summer so will continue to moult!!
The only real answer is to keep your house cold or the dog outside - neither of which is probably practical
Have you tried a dyson animal!!!!
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!0 -
I have 2 dogs and one moults more than the other - some breeds of dogs are just like this and there is nothing you can do - it's nature.
I find that grooming helps - I use a rubber groomer which I have for my horse - and this helps to remove lots of hair, plus I have an Animal Dyson and hoover every day. Apart from this I don't think there's much more you can do0 -
I know this well:rolleyes: I have one white dog and one big black dog and the black dog is moulting like mad at the mo, try adding 1 tea spoon of tinned spinach to their dinner this helps a lot:T
As for dyson animals they are the biggest waste of money, worst item I have ever bought.
I do hoover the dogs too0 -

alternatively you could clip him? I clipped my dog in the summer and it has prevented alot of shed hairs. He did look a bit odd for a couple of weeks but it soons grows back and it gets rid of the bulk.0 -
We vacuum our cats which really reduces the amount of hair - they love it!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0
