The seller can only discount by the amount of the postage charged so if it's free they can't discount on the invoice. (Unless it's changed again now of course)
They could of course send a partial refund but if you don't trust them then maybe not.
With the Amazon vs Ebay thing, we try much harder with Amazon and have much worse feedback, there are some strange rules (like p+p costs that are set by Amazon not us), buyers don't seem to get in touch, and it is almost impossible to get a unfair feedback removed unless it is a product review so I wouldn't read too much into a disparity. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.0 -
A personal listing is the best way, as others have said, if you want to deal within Ebay.
I frequently list items specifically sourced. Just have the title as....listing reserved for theonlywayisup....then the listing blurb and the agreed price.0 -

Just contact the seller, explain that you'd like to either pay by credit card or via paypal, and wait for them to return with a quote.
I know it's hard to believe, but most things brought and sold don't involve an ebay or amazon listing, and they are cheaper because they do not.
I actually agree with you. Buy direct and negotiate a bigger discount.
As long as OP pays by credit card direct, or with paypal (and sends money for goods with quantity clearly shown) they will be as well protected as on ebay. Paypal now offer full buyer protection even for non ebay sales. The only difference buying on ebay would make is that OP could leave feedback if it goes wrong, and I wouldn't pay extra just for that privelege.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thank you all for the useful info. Will research the Paypal only option, as I did not know the level of protection offered. I thought it was higher on eBay.0
