Working for Lloyds Bank was my first job it was personal we knew all the customers by first name.

It was back in day when back managers really was bank managers and not glorified sales staff.

However in some respects it was too personal because if the bank manager did not like you then you missed out on the goodies likes loans and overdrafts. I remember a situation where I went into Lloyds and requested a £150.00 temp overdraft. It was agreed.

I paid it back and then requested a perm overdraft and the reply from the assistant manager was "if it was up to me there would not be a problem", but the manager does not like you.

I hasten to add this is going back to 1984.

Santander seem to degrade the whole concept of banking, not just your account.

I think it all went down hill when they merged with that Toy Town bank TSB.

Lloyds used to have a nice exclusive upper class feel to it before then.

Ugh. When I hear of an upper class feel I think of a leering Branson with his virginal cabin crew!

Have a look at my other post. They've done me proud today, whereas LTSB practically told me to take my business elsewhere. So I did :)
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂
